Be Off Blogging for a While

It’s been three months that I am really into blogging especially after knowing that somehow I am selected to continue my study in Malaysia. Now I’ve got 51 posts including this one. I love doing it. I love my blog’s name (In fact, I wanna name it a different angle, but sadly It’s already taken! That’s still okay, a new angle is also good). I just want to see things differently, from a different or a new angle, but I haven’t posted anything about it yet and I’m learning how to do it. I at first want to write in mainly in English, but the first blog I read in khmer is svichet.wordpress.com. The blog inspires me to write in khmer. What a good idea! So that We’ve got more articles in Khmer, articles in English is more than enough! My blog is not unique, just a simple one without any attractive designs. I’ve just noticed it looks good at least for me today in firefox web browser. But it serves my purpose well. Okay, I’m not quiting blogging yet, just wanna rest and do something different. See ya next months or something, I’m not sure…

My Angel

“Beep! Beep!” alerted my digital watch. It signaled me that it’s was already 12 o’clock. I was still at my office. I was striving to complete my project which I must hand in the following day. I had been working on it for several weeks and this was the last day. I thought I would finish it by half past twelve. No one was in the office. It seemed very quiet and I didn’t notice this until I finished my project, because I paid my whole attention on it.It had already been 12:30 and as I had planned, I now finished my time-consuming task. I was walking out off my office and heading to the parking lot. It was a cold night, because it was raining hard outside. As i was approaching my car, I felt freezingly cold and sensed that somebody was following me. However, whenever I looked back, I saw no one. I thought my sense was joking with me and so I didn’t cared too much about it. i saw my Toyota Camry standing alone in the empty parking lot. It was a long journey. My house was in the outskirt of the city and I had to negotiate a forty-kilometer trip. Well, it’s normal for me.I couldn’t drive fast, because it was a totally stupid idea to do with heavy tropical rain. The road was not very busy. I could see few cars and almost no motorbikes. I now made almost half of my journey. There was a pagoda in the next 50 meters. I remembered the time  when I was a kid, I used to go there frequently with my parents. But now i couldn’t go as frequently as before a, as I was too busy with my career. And my imagination just went on and on. Not until I almost passed her that i noticed a young woman calling me to stop. She seemed to appear out of nowhere. So I slowed down and turned to the right. My car now stood still. I wondered why she was alone in such a place and in such a situation. She had no umbrella or raincoat. “Could you please drive me home, sir? My house is only about 5 kilometers from here.” she said. “Come in! Come in!” I replied hurriedly. I noticed her sweet voice, and beautiful face. She was in a sexy white dress. And the rain water made her even sexier, because her thin, wet dress clung to her perfect body. What an angel! I almost couldn’t control myself. “Thank you very much, sir” she said. Her speech interrupted my devil imagination. “Oh! It doesn’t matter” I replied unconsciously. Then, we just conversed and got to know each other just as normal strangers when they first meet. I drove my car as slowly as possible so that we could be together as long as possible. “I love you. I hope we can be together forever and ever.” she said. Her speech struck my single heart like lightening. I though it was just joke, so I replied “Yes, I hope so, too.” “Are you serious?” she said. “Yes, I am. I will be the luckiest man to have a perfect angel like you” I replied. “I am a ghost! So you must be a ghost too so that we can be together!” she said. There was no time for me to reply. Suddenly my car accelerated, went out off control and then overturned. Complete darkness. “Get up! Get up! Or you will be late for your English class!” my roommate shouted.”Am I a ghost now?” I murmured. “Idiot!” my roommate said. Unfortunately or fortunately, it was just a dream. My angel has gone and I have to face my real life!

Touching Stories

Papa…Can I Borrow $25?

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated,

to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: ‘Daddy, may I ask you a question?’

DAD: ‘Yeah sure, what it is?’ replied the man.

SON: ‘Daddy, how much do you make an hour?’

DAD: ‘That’s none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?’

the man said angrily.

SON: ‘I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?’

DAD: ‘If you must know, I make $50 an hour.’

SON: ‘Oh,’ the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: ‘Daddy, may I please borrow $25?’

The father was furious, ‘If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don’t work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.’

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy’s questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:

Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn’t ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy’s room and opened the door.

‘Are you asleep, son?’ He asked.

‘No daddy, I’m awake,’ replied the boy.

‘I’ve been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier’ said the man. ‘It’s been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here’s the $25 you asked for.’

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. ‘Oh, thank you daddy!’ he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

‘Why do you want more money if you already have some?’ the father grumbled.

‘Because I didn’t have enough, but now I do,’ the little boy replied.

‘Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.’

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It’s just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.
